The 2015 North Bay Man & Woman of the Year Kickoff!

Last week The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Greater Bay Area Chapter officially kicked off the 2015 North Bay Man & Woman of the Year campaign at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa! Over 50 guests, consisting of candidates, supporters, honorees and their families, came to celebrate the official start of the campaign.

Photos by Colson Griffith Photography - www.colsongriffith.comIt was a very special evening, not only because it was our first opportunity to officially honor our 2015 candidates, but because we were able to celebrate our 2015 Girl of the Year Anniston’s sixth birthday! Anniston was given cupcakes and balloons and the 2015 Boy of the Year Jayden sang happy birthday to her on stage.

The event also included moving speeches from Michelle Heston, a member of our North Bay Advisory Board, Anniston’s mom Stacey, LLS staff and last year’s Woman of the Year Jennifer Buffo, who was awarded the LLS Top Fundraiser Recognition award for raising over $80,000 during her campaign. Not only was she given her award, Jennifer also had the pleasure of announcing our candidates and read a quote from their nominators on why they chose these individuals to champion our cause.

The 2015 North Bay Man & Woman of the Year candidates include:
