Are you a collector of fine art or a fan of President John F. Kennedy and his family? For the past 15 years, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has owned a collection of photographs of the Kennedy family, taken by Jacques Lowe from 1958 through 1963 while he served as the official photographer to the Kennedy presidential campaign. The collection, which is titled “A Tribute to Jackie,” includes 55 framed black-and-white photographs of President Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in January 1994, and their family.
This collection has been exhibited throughout the country, including the Rayburn Building in Washington, DC and The Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, TX. After over a decade of ownership, LLS has decided to auction the photographs with an auction house in Massachusetts, where it will be part of a very large collection of Kennedy family memorabilia. The auction will take place on Friday, November 22, 2013, which is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas.
