Happy New Year! We are already a week into 2013 and ramping up for what is sure to be an exciting new year for the LLS Greater SF Bay Area chapter! Here’s an abridged preview of some of the happenings to come in the next 365 (make that 358) days.
New Home for Redwood/Wine Country Branch Office
Come the week of January 14, 2013, our RWC staff will have a new home! Still in Santa Rosa, but on Bennet Valley Road: 2455 Bennett Valley Road, Suite B204, Santa Rosa, CA 95404-5667.
Survivorship element added to popular Emerging Therapies Conference
We are excited to announce that our largest annual patient and caregiver conference on February 9, 2013 (now called Emerging Therapies & Survivorship for Blood Cancer Patients) will include a panel discussion on survivorship and issues patients face after treatment. Register online at bit.ly/emergingtherapies.
Launch of North Bay Man & Woman of the Year Campaign
The countdown is on for our first-ever North Bay Man & Woman of the Year campaign! As with the San Francisco classic, the North Bay campaign is a 10-week fundraising competition between community leaders – focused in the North Bay region. The fun kicks off on April 4, 2013 for the San Francisco Man & Woman of the Year campaign and on April 18, 2013 for our new North Bay Man & Woman of the Year campaign.
NEW Napa Light The Night Walk
On September 28, 2013, we will be lighting the night in downtown Napa for the very first time, expanding our total number of Light The Night Walks to four – North Bay, San Francisco, East Bay and now, Napa.
Team In Training Celebrates 25 Years
This year marks the 25th anniversary of this incredible fundraising program that has raised more than $1.32 billion to support blood cancer research and patient services.
Someday is Today Awareness Campaign
Thanks to your support, there’s a whole new generation of blood cancer patients living normal lives. Some of them manage their condition with just a daily pill. Many wouldn’t be here without discoveries funded by LLS. The Someday is Today awareness campaign tells our story and highlights the progress we have made. If you have yet to see it, I encourage you to watch the new :60 sec PSA.
If any of this has you thinking, “I have got to get involved with that,” connect with us!
