This past Saturday, nearly 400 guests helped us celebrate the culmination of our 2012 Man & Woman of the Year campaign at the Fairmont San Francisco. It was an evening inspired by Dr. Seuss, complete with whimsical “Lorax trees” and other colorful decorations.
And oh, the places our candidates went!
Our eleven talented candidates with their incredible campaign teams, supporters and sponsors, raised close to $600,000 in just ten weeks! And the variety of creative means they used to get there was truly mind-boggling. No two events were alike. Truly.
In the end, it was Roger Royse and Brianna Haag who earned the titles, Man & Woman of the Year! Incredibly, both blew past the $100,000 mark and Brianna set a new fundraising record for Greater San Francisco!
We also had two candidates earn the opportunity to “fund an LLS researcher” by raising $50,000 or more: Christie White and Nelum Gunewardane.
Congratulations to all of our candidates, supporters and sponsors! You are truly instrumental in the fight against blood cancers and we thank you!
