Million-dollar Milestone

It was the question on everyone’s mind at the 6th annual Bay Area Leukemia Cup Regatta – will we hit the $1 Million mark this year?

I am thrilled to announce that we DID!

Here’s a snapshot of the 2011 Bay Area Leukemia Cup Regatta by the numbers.

$1,020,000: The total amount raised this year. WOW!
77: The number of boats that competed in a variety of classes on Sunday, October 2nd. Check out the final race results at www.sfyc.org.
$25,000: The amount raised by our nine Sail For A Cure participants
16: The number of participants who raised more than $8,500 and qualified to join National Chairman, Gary Jobson, at the Fantasy Sail in New York
$125,000: How much the live auction following guest speaker, John Doerr’s presentation raised
$35,055, $29,813 & $25,900 : The amount raised by the top individual fundraisers, Anne Feinberg, Charles Froeb and Bill Nolan respectively. WOW again!

Congratulations and thank you to all involved in making this a record-setting year! A special thank you to The San Francisco Yacht Club for hosting and our Honorary Skippers for being the inspiration for this incredible event.
